Damaged Auction Vehicles: Check Ocean Acceptance Before Ground Dispatch

A ground carrier’s ability to collect a salvage vehicle does not establish ocean acceptance. Before FleetX plans an auction purchase toward the final overseas destination, describe damage and handling needs for both modes so the proposed connection can be checked.

Report conditions that affect the next mode

Provide photographs and a factual description of missing wheels, unsecured parts, leaks, structural obstruction or battery damage. Do not rely only on a salvage label or auction running description. Ask qualified handlers what additional assessment is needed and do not attempt to make a damaged vehicle safe by improvising a repair for transport.

Obtain approval for the proposed ocean method

Ask FleetX what information the proposed ocean operator requires and which handling arrangement needs acceptance. A container is not an automatic workaround for every damaged vehicle, and RoRo eligibility should not be inferred from a successful truck loading. Keep any acceptance conditions with the booking file and share them with the preparation location.

Recheck if the condition changes

If collection reveals damage not disclosed in the request, notify the coordinator before the next transfer. Ask whether the accepted equipment or ocean option remains suitable and document the revised decision. Keep destination import eligibility as a separate check; transport acceptance does not establish that the buyer may register or use the vehicle after arrival.

Hypothetical acceptance decision file

Illustrative scenario, not an actual FleetX shipment or carrier decision: an auction unit has a missing rear wheel, reported fluid leakage and unknown battery condition. Record the observations, assign qualified assessments and keep onward movement conditional. No approval, repair outcome or specific ocean option is assumed in this example.

Ask FleetX to coordinate the information required for the proposed ground and ocean plan. Hold the dependent decision until the responsible parties confirm suitability and conditions. A genuine case study can replace this example only after approval of a sanitized shipment record; no invented FleetX operational outcome is presented.
