Motorcycle Shipping Preparation: Handling, Packing and Documents
A motorcycle shipment needs its own handling plan rather than a passenger-car checklist with a different label. Confirm the carrier’s packing and acceptance requirements before moving the bike to a collection site.

Describe size and condition
Provide dimensions, weight, modifications, running condition and available keys. Identify removable accessories and existing damage. Ask whether the operator requires a crate, pallet or another securing arrangement, and who supplies it. Measure the packed shipment when packing changes its footprint.
Follow the chosen operator’s preparation rules
Ask for current instructions on fuel, batteries, personal items, packing and loading. Electric motorcycles need explicit battery-condition disclosure and acceptance. Avoid improvised securing instructions: the equipment and securing method must be approved for the actual bike and transport mode.
Confirm the document and destination path
Match the vehicle identifier to purchase and ownership documents and check export/import requirements for the selected countries. Record the receiving party’s ability to unload and collect it. Use this preparation list to ask about service availability; it does not establish that every provider offers motorcycle transport on every route.
