Commercial Vans from Auction: Plan Height, Fit-Out and Receiving

For a commercial van bought at Copart or IAA, tell FleetX what is installed and where it must be delivered. Ground and ocean planning should use the actual roof, wheelbase and fit-out, especially when the van will go to a workshop or business premises.

Capture body and equipment details

Supply overall dimensions and describe refrigeration units, roof equipment, shelving or a liftgate. State whether installed equipment is secured and whether extra loose items remain inside. Separate vehicle specification from any cargo request so the proposed ocean handler can assess each under its applicable instructions.

Describe the collection condition

Report missing keys, wheel damage and limitations to steering or braking. Ask whether doors and service compartments can be accessed by authorized personnel. Do not count the van’s commercial appearance as evidence that it can drive safely or that installed equipment works; transport and technical inspection answer different questions.

Prepare the business receiver

Confirm opening hours, access height and unloading arrangements at the final workshop or business address. If local arrival delivery falls outside FleetX’s quoted scope, assign it explicitly. Give the receiver the current condition and equipment inventory so receipt can be checked against what left the auction, not against an assumed factory specification.

Vehicle measurement and photo checklist

Record roof equipment and fit-out alongside the van’s measured dimensions when preparing a transport inquiry.
