Replacement Auction Vehicle Title: Follow the Issuer, Then Review Export
A lost ownership document and a title that has never been issued require different follow-up. For a Copart or IAA purchase needing a replacement, identify the issuing authority and authorized applicant before asking FleetX to revise the transport plan.

Identify the document and authorized applicant
Record the jurisdiction, VIN, document type, named owner and current lien or transfer questions. Ask the auction representative whether the file is missing an existing title, awaiting an initial issue or awaiting transfer. A replacement application should not be used to obscure an unresolved ownership or seller-authority question.
Use the issuer’s current replacement process
New York DMV is one issuer example: its replacement guidance distinguishes available application channels and eligibility conditions. Follow the actual issuing jurisdiction’s instructions for the applicant, delivery address and document status. Do not copy another state’s process or promise a completion date before the issuer confirms the individual request.
Review the received document before rescheduling
When the replacement arrives, reconcile its vehicle identity, named parties and any remaining supporting evidence with the origin export contact. Ask whether the required original or accepted format is actually available. Give FleetX the revised readiness status and document-custody plan; an application receipt or scanned image is not automatically the export document the responsible authority accepts.
Vehicle document custody register
Log the received replacement’s format and custody handoff while the export contact reviews its acceptance.
