Before Bidding for Export: Five Questions to Resolve

Before bidding, confirm eligibility to buy, the vehicle’s identity and condition, its document status, destination eligibility and the complete collection budget. Winning first and investigating later can leave you with a vehicle that cannot follow the route you planned.

Read the auction’s own conditions

Confirm buyer eligibility, bidding authorization, payment arrangements, transaction charges and release conditions with the auction or your appointed buying representative. Do not transfer another company’s deposit or membership rules to your transaction. Fleet X Direct transport planning does not by itself grant auction access or bidding authority.

Resolve document and condition risks

Compare the VIN across available records and note the exact title or ownership status. Ask about keys, loading condition, missing parts and inspections. Confirm destination restrictions independently before bidding on a damaged vehicle. A low price does not compensate for a document or eligibility issue that prevents the planned shipment.

Calculate your bid ceiling

Subtract verified transaction, collection, transport and destination allowances from your complete budget to determine a bid ceiling. Mark every allowance as confirmed or provisional. If a major cost is unknown, reduce the uncertainty before committing rather than counting on a later shipping quote to rescue the purchase.
