Vehicle Shipping Cutoffs: Separate the Truck, Documents and Vessel

For a Copart or IAA purchase heading overseas, several deadlines may need to align. Prepare a cutoff sheet with FleetX for the proposed ground and ocean plan. Every entry should name the responsible party, required submission and current confirmation.

Collect the actual deadlines

Request the auction collection window, receiving appointment, document deadline and cargo acceptance cutoff for the proposed shipment. Record time zone and the source of each instruction. Do not copy a previous vessel’s dates onto a new booking. Ask which entries are provisional and when they will be confirmed.

Test a late-document scenario

If the title will arrive after planned collection, ask whether ground transport can proceed to an accepted holding point while export preparation remains blocked. Confirm permission and storage costs before deciding. A nearby truck slot is not a reason to send an undocumented vehicle to a terminal that cannot receive it.

Reconfirm after any booking change

A revised ocean option can change receiving location and deadlines. Ask FleetX which ground instructions need updating, and ensure the carrier receives the replacement plan. Keep the superseded instructions marked as old so the driver, document contact and receiver work from the same current shipment version.
