Collecting an Auction Vehicle in Ghana: Prepare the Arrival Handoff

Ocean arrival is a milestone, not permission to drive away with the vehicle. For a Ghana-bound auction purchase, agree the receiving responsibilities while FleetX plans the ground and ocean journey. Your local arrival contact should confirm the requirements for release and onward delivery.

Give the arrival contact a consistent file

Provide the VIN, ownership and purchase records, ocean shipment reference and receiver details to the responsible arrival party. Ask that party to reconcile the file before arrival. GRA publishes Ghana vehicle-import guidance; use it as a reference while obtaining a current assessment for this specific vehicle rather than applying another buyer’s figures.

Confirm separate release steps

Ask which clearance actions, carrier releases and terminal permissions remain before collection can be arranged. Identify who requests each confirmation and who pays applicable charges. Keep a receipt and authorization record for the receiver. Do not schedule a collection truck solely because a vessel appears to have arrived.

Finish at the agreed destination

Confirm whether FleetX’s accepted transport scope ends at discharge, an arrival handoff or another delivery point. If local movement is separate, give that carrier vehicle condition, collection authority and the receiver’s address. Record condition at collection and final receipt so the auction-to-destination file closes with evidence of the physical handoff.
